Lost your bike key in Amsterdam: do this (not that)
The reflex is a screwdriver or a kerb. That is how frames dent and insurers get awkward. Stop. Only the lock is allowed to lose.
WhatsApp a pin, a photo of the lock and whether you need express. We state the rate before we drive: €75 including call-out within 15 km of postcode 1063, beyond that plus €1 per extra kilometre.
Bring a receipt, bike registration or a clear photo of your ID. No ownership, no opening — not even if it is raining and you have a last metro to catch.
Often the ring lock or chain opens without a grinder. If not, we cut the lock, not the frame. Then a new lock can go on immediately so the bike is not left wide open overnight.
Check the ground by the lock, your coat and the pannier first. Half of the ‘lost’ calls are in another pocket. Then call us.
A key snapped in the cylinder is not a reason to lever it. The rest of the metal is still in the lock. We pull it or cut the cylinder, not your fork.
If you are at a station and the lock happens to be open, do not leave the bike loose. An open bike in Amsterdam is gone in minutes. A new lock can go on in the same visit.
Do not guess the price. Calculate your price or send a pin. Within 15 km of 1063, call-out is inside the €75. Beyond that, €1 per extra kilometre.
Night, rain, last metro: same people. We are now open includes 03:00. Call or message us, do not search a forum.
