Cutting a bike lock: when it beats picking
Opening is always plan A. Cutting is plan B: broken cylinder, rust-welded lock, or a chain around a pole with no end.
We cut the lock, not the fork, not the rack. Own grinder, own power, even in the canal belt where there is nowhere to plug in.
Then the bike is open. So we bring a replacement lock. You ride away with something that shuts.
24/7 in Amsterdam and the region. €75 including call-out within 15 km of 1063, beyond that plus €1 per extra kilometre.
Cutting is noise and sparks. We cover the frame and aim the disc at the lock. A disc through a fork is amateur work. We do not do that.
Cylinder spinning, key snapped, chain already half cut after a theft attempt: opening is often slower than one clean cut.
Say if the bike has to lock again afterwards. A cut chain is not a lock. We carry replacements, price agreed on site.
Courtyard neighbours will hear it. We are quick. Send the gate code, or we are at a shut door and you are with the bike.
